12 Year Old Boy Thwarts Burglary By Calling 911

On February 13, 2012, at approximately 8:45AM, the Davis Police Department received a 911 call from a 12 year old boy reporting a burglary in progress in the 2000 block of Caravaggio Drive. The victim was home alone, when a stranger appeared at the front door. When the victim did not answer, the subject went around to the back door and tried to force entry. The victim called 911 immediately while hiding in the bathroom. The victim stayed on the phone providing valuable information to the dispatcher as officers rushed to the scene with their emergency lights and sirens.

The suspect fled prior to police arrival, and the victim was unharmed. At the scene, officers found evidence suggesting the suspect also tried to make entry through a window in the backyard. The suspect is described as a male, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt who is approximately 30 years old. Davis Police Officers continue to investigate this incident.
