Davis Police Make Arrest in Homicide Case

On April 14, 2013, at approximately 9:20 pm, the Davis Police Department responded to the 4000 block of Cowell Blvd. for a welfare check. While conducting the check, officers discovered two deceased adults inside. The deceased were later identified as 87 year old Oliver Northup of Davis and his wife, 76 year old Claudia Maupin of Davis. During the course of the investigation, officers discovered signs of forced entry to the residence. The Davis Police Department, along with members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the California Department of Justice, the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office, the West Sacramento Police Department, and the Dixon Police Department served several search warrants in regards to the case today, June 17, 2013. In addition, a 16 year old male Davis resident was taken into custody, and is being held on charges for the double murder. There are no other suspects in this case.
